Today FOX announced two series renewals, one was a no-brainer and one was a bit of a surprise.
FOX has renewed the comedy-horror series Scream Queens for a second season, it was announced today by Gary Newman and Dana Walden, Chairmen and CEOs, Fox Television Group.The renewal ends months of speculation if the series would come back after lack luster ratings.
Season Two of Scream Queens graduates from the college campus and into an all-new location, as a terrifyingly funny murder mystery will begin once again.
This time, the show will be set in a hospital, where some of the most fascinating and bizarre medical cases are under observation. Casting for the new season will be announced at a later date.
The series is created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan, who also serve as writers and directors on the series.
Also announced today, FOX has renewed the blockbuster drama Empire for a third season.
Empire stars Terrence Howard, Taraji P. Henson, Jussie Smollett, Bryshere “Yazz” Gray, Trai Byers, Grace Gealey, Kaitlin Doubleday, Gabourey Sidibe, Ta’Rhonda Jones and Serayah McNeill.
The series was created by Academy Award nominee Lee Daniels and Emmy Award winner Danny Strong, and is executive-produced by Daniels, Strong, Academy Award- and Emmy Award-winning producer Brian Grazer, Ilene Chaiken and Francie Calfo.
