It’s been a fantastic year so far for Jeffrey Dean Morgan. He is currently starring opposite Halle Berry in the second season of the CBS series Extant. He’s also starred in the History miniseries Texas Rising and the Starz series Magic City.
Now, Deadline is reporting that the veteran actor will now join the cast of the CBS hit series The Good Wife as a series regular for the upcoming seventh season.
Dean will play Alex, a calm, experienced hourly investigator whom Alicia (Julianna Margulies) hires.
“We’ve loved and admired Jeffrey Dean Morgan for years, and we were thrilled to hear that Julianna did too, so it was a no-brainer to ask him to join our troupe,” said The Good Wife creators/executive producers Robert and Michelle King.
