As we’ve seen before, in today’s television landscape, being cancelled doesn’t necessarily mean you are truly “cancelled”.
The season four finale of Nashville ended on a major cliffhanger and left fans upset and hoping that the series would come back. Well, it seems that there wish is about to come true.
In what seems like a perfect fit, Lionsgate Television, which produces Nashville, is currently in serious talks with CMT to bring the series back for a fifth season.
An official announcement of the renewal is expected to be made Wednesday night, during the CMT Awards.
The fifth season will see television veterans Marshall Herskovitz and Ed Zwick take over as showrunners.
Nashville follows the lives of various country singers and stars Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere.
