UPDATE 5:31pm – NBC has also announced that is has cancelled Marry Me.
The ax continues to fall at the various networks today. This time it’s NBC who have cancelled State of Affairs and Constantine.
The Katherine Heigl led State of Affairs just never seemed to connect with the viewers and its ratings showed that over the 13 episode season.
The series followed Heigl as CIA analyst Charleston Tucker, who is tasked with assembling and presenting the President’s Daily Briefing on the most vital security issues facing the country, and Alfre Woodard as the first black woman to be elected President of the United States, Constance Payton.
Constantine also struggled in the ratings during its first season even though it developed a very loyal fanbase. NBC decided not to order any new episodes after the original 13 had aired which was definitely a warning sign for the fate of the series.
Rumors began and were soon debunked that the series would move to the Syfy channel for a second season. Currently, it’s being rumored that series producer Warner Bros. TV is looking for another home for the series.
Stay tuned…
